TODAY I LEARNED AND RE LEARNED ... THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER EXPECT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING ELSE TO FULFIL YOURSELF

Being disappointed. This is a feeling you probably felt a million times and it happened to me again recently So I started to ask myself what were the true reason of this disappointment and I realized it was like “my ego is touched”… It reminded me what I thought I knew and that I eventually might needed to learn again: you cannot expect a friend, a guy or anybody else to fulfil yourself. You’re supposed to create you inner joy and no one else but you can do it. The answers are all in ourselves and we shouldn’t rely on external factors to have this feeling of being complete.

I was sharing my thoughts with a friend last day and she asked a great question: but then if you shouldn’t rely on anybody else but you when it’s human nature to have expectations, what does it mean? That we shouldn’t trust anybody and close ourselves to every single person who seems to be nice to us and only want our happiness?

The point is that, like in everything in life I guess, you need to find the right balance. You’re not supposed to close yourself to others. Sharing is actually very importance but I think it’s just the part of expectations that you need to reduce. How? I have no idea. Just gaining confidence in yourself maybe. I’m still trying to find the answer to that question.

I just found that quote that I love:

"Remember happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think." Dale Carnegie

I think it fits well with our current subject. Our happiness does not depend on what we have or what people told us but more on what we do with all that, how we think and envision life.

Any thoughts on the subject ?

Hi Val, :o)

This post reminds me of "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost, the only poem still there in my mind 4 years after my farewell to all my English Literature textbooks, books, and notebooks...

Life is complicated, but it can be simplified. We all have two choices in our hand: yes and no; positive and negative; optimist and pessimist; smile and not to...

Being happy or not is all up to you. Hope all of us will choose the road which makes us happy, and we will never regret when we grow old.
