Getting to know you: Lisa's Introduction

First off, a big thanks to Ana, Fran, and Valerie for sharing a little bit about yourselves on here. Everyone is so unique and different but we all seem to share some similarities as well...I love that! Now I suppose it's my turn to give a little introduction.

Even though I have a blog where I share my ideas on my life, thoughts, and everything else, I am not the best at talking about myself or giving praises for my accomplishments or talents, but here it goes.

I feel like I am at a crossroads at my life and for the first time I really have no idea what is going to happen next, or where I'll end up. I love that feeling of uncertainly where literally anything can happen, but a big part of me is also craving something permanent, predictable, and a settled life somewhere. Don't confuse that with me wanting to "settle down" though, because I am certainly not ready for that. :) Which brings me to my next comment...

I am so picky, no wonder I am still single. Is that a bad thing? People sometimes tell me that I have pretty high standards, but I am fully confident that the right guy is out there for me somewhere in the world...stay tuned for any future details on that!

I feel like there are still so many things I am discovering about myself-- likes, dislikes, passions, you name it. My life is entirely different from how it was 2 or 3 years ago. On the outside a lot of things may appear to be the same-- most of the changes have been internal. My outlook and attitude has altered so much within the past year or so. I feel like I am at peace with everything and I am no longer looking back at the past or blaming anyone or anything for the way my life is going. I feel fully in control and ready to see where life takes me.

I have recently developed a creative side...I completed two amazing scrapbooks earlier this year that I am so proud of. I have also really started to get into photography, and of course, blogging. It is so therapeutic and I have had the pleasure of interacting with so many different kinds of people from all over the world. I feel like we are all united in some way.

I am completely obsessed with all-things relating to media and entertainment-- movies, theater, music, magazines, journalism, concerts, radio, television, you name it. I could spend hours in a bookstore. If the bookstore also carries films and CD's then I could pretty much be there all day! :) I somehow need to find a job that incorporates those things into my daily work routine. Speaking of jobs, I am currently unemployed and although I enjoyed it at first (sleeping in late, creating my own schedule, comfy clothes, blogging 24/7, etc.) it has quickly become rather depressing and I cannot wait to start a full-time job somewhere (soon, hopefully!).

Other random things that I adore: my friends and family, Disneyland, baseball, Sex & the City, shopping, elephants, zoos, flowers, Johnny Depp, makeup, rock/alt/folk/indie music, laughing, learning, shoes, traveling, candles, reading & writing, poetry, diet coke, handbags, history, research, bubble baths, and so much more.

High standards are not bad at all, they protect you from stepping into ugly relationships. I guess that being picky has a price, but if that´s the one you have to pay for being with someone worth it, the... it is worth it.

I fully understand what you've written here...
When we are 15 or 20 we don't see some things... but after graduations, we cross some important line and we start to think who we really are. I now start to really know me and develop my passions...
Relationships... it's best to let them begin naturally. Sometimes we are encircled by wrong people, I mean sometimes we can belong to two or more different entourages and from each of them we can derive different "benefits". If you know what I mean...

bisous. deva.
