Speaking Skills

This will be a short post but I guess that you [amazingly smart, strong and independant 20somethings] will find it useful.

Both in our professional and personal lives, we have been/are/will be confronted to public speaking. Not everybody is able to master those speaking skills. This requires a little help and sometimes therapy if you have a real problem of self confidence.

However, I might have a solution to help you avoiding therapy: Have you ever heard of Toastmasters? It is a non profit organization whose purpose is to help people "become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience". They organize workshops in more than 12,500 clubs in 106 countries! I know it's a recognized organization in the business world so don't hesitate to trust them. If you want to have more information, I highly recommend you to check out their website and eventually contact them: www.toastmasters.org

Believe in yourself and rock the world ladies !

I have heard of Toastmasters! I was required to attend a meeting during my freshman year of college for my speech & communication class. 4 years later, I think I could REALLY benefit from this if I took a few classes. Thanks for reminding me about it! :)

You're welcome Lisa! I'd like to give it a try as well :) It's not that I'm shy but I'm introverted ... I'm totally okay with one on one conversations or with just 2/3 people but speaking in front of an audience has always been a challenge for me !

Let me know how it goes if you give it a try :)
